Welcome

Email scams are as old as the internet. Within this blog you will see several that have been sent to one person. All links have been rendered useless. Each email is posted here in their entirety as I have received them, with only a few changes to protect you the viewer.
Each posting has been edited into this blog with Microsoft One Note.
Please, do not contact any of the authors of these emails. Do so At Your Own Risk!

About the Blog

Hello and welcome to Scams Squared to Death. A listing of emails received over several years to one individual.
Use this as a guide to know what to look for in your own Inbox.
Some claim to be lost inheritances. Others claim to be compensation for helping. Many claim to be a legitimate government, including the USA. ALL are asking for money and ALL are lying.
This blog will be refined to better help you navigate to subjects the emails fall under to allow you to make comparisons to emails you have received.
The largest portion of the mailings claim the money is held by Nigerian National Bank or by the government of Nigeria.
Of course many of us have seen this on the news in the past. All of these are what are called Phishing scams and most are poorly executed. Some though are fairly believable. The thing to remember is that you must pay attention to any and all emails you receive. Whether they are from a business you work with or a complete stranger. The old adage, "If it is too good to be true, it probably is", is well represented in the letters on this blog. Protect yourself with Anti-virus and old fashioned eye peeling.
Pay attention to return email addresses, to contents in the body of the mailings and who is sending it. If a close friend sends you an email asking for large sums of money and hasn't called you, call them. If your bank asks you to log in to reset your password or to update information, call them or go to the URL on your own. Do not click on a link within an email. It is easy enough for you to type the original one in the address bar in your browser or search for it in a search engine you trust. Be safe.
